Today we've got another pair of old school vintage Olympics inspired kicks - this time from the 1980s JCPenney USA Olympics line, and they're showing the glue stains of history. These sneakers are from right around 1980 - 1981. What is odd about these sneakers is that the US Boycotted the Olympic games in 1980. According to Wikipedia “Led by the United States at the insistence of U.S. President Jimmy Carter, 66 countries boycotted the games entirely because of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.” They and came in the scarlet and gray colorway which I'm sure made them popular with our Ohio State Buckeye friends.
