Jox by Thom McAn 1979 vintage sneaker and socks ad

September 21, 2018

We're going to declare this as "Jox Friday." Here's another old school 1979 vintage sneaker and socks ad, this time by by Jox for their 'Mile-r' socks. Jox was the athletic shoe sub-brand of Thom McAn in the late 70s and early 80s.

Ad info is below:

JOX INTRODUCES A RUNNING SOCK WITH ARCH SUPPORT BUILT-IN

Developed for runners by Thom McAn to team up with their famous runner's shoe. The 'Mile-r' has springy lightweight panels of Lycra® knit-in to keep your arch well supported. There's a snug-fitting stay up top and a no-slide heel knit in to shape the sock in back so it won't slip down. Made in soft Hi-Bulk ORLON® to keep your feet drier and give you a long comfortable run for your money. Non-allergenic. Machine wash and dry. The 'Mile-r.' Newest in the JOX line of athletic socks.

Thom McAn

Built-in arch support available in ankle, crew and knee-hi lengths. At all Thom McAn stores.
